I tried to fly lower, and it sort of worked. I went down again, not so much because the cold bother me, because it didn’t, but I couldn’t fly with a cape made of ice and I didn’t have better sight from up there anyway. I tried to fly higher to get away from the rain, but it was freezing above the clouds, and the water started to form ice crystals on my cape. I had water in my boots and my hair must have looked like a complete mess. My cape got stuck on my back and didn’t fly after me like it used to. I told her that I would contact them if I needed any help. I said no, I was a adult Superhero for Rao's sake. Alex kept asking me over the coms if J'onn should come and pick me up. I tried to see through the rain, but all I could see was a large grey wall of water. I had to slow down just to be able to see anything at all. When I say rain, I don’t mean a light drizzle, I mean a real cloudburst. It was in the middle of the night and I was on my way home to National City after a good job in Star City, and somewhere on the way it started to rain. But every cloud has a silver lining, and so did my catastrophic sense of direction. It was one thing when I knew that I had a two feet thick wall in front of me, but this? Miles of water drops falling from the sky like Rao had lost the love of his life.

The X-ray vision was probably the hardest thing to master. The only thing I truly had under control was the hearing, the glasses never stopped me from hearing things. The freeze breath? The heat vision? I had to learn them from scratch again. Winn said that it must be like cycling, but he has never tried to cycle after ten years of only walking. Before I jumped up to save Alex in her plane, I hadn’t flown in over a decade. The flying and the cape thing were something else. Don’t hit too hard, don’t hit too soft, every enemy was different, and I had to learn with the first punch how much they could take. Taking off the glasses made me realised that there was so much of my powers that I didn’t have full control over. Winn asked why I hadn’t used the GPS in my suit, I didn’t even know that I had one so how could I? But none of them knew what had happened to me while I was gone. And he had had centuries to learn how to master his powers. Easy for him to say, he doesn’t have one. J’onn talked about how I need to learn how to use my X-ray vision better.

I hadn’t been Supergirl for that long, she could have cut me some slack. Is it so weird that I happened to get lost when US was hit with one of the worst rainfalls ever? Alex thought so, she laughed so hard at me when I finally returned to the DEO. The turns are harder to get perfect and the sight… How am I supposed to be able to get a good overview when everything I see is water?
